New model design materials and techniques will be evaluated to determine
faster or cheaper construction techniques to expedite testing.
Scale models other than 3/8 will be analyzed to allow possible crosswind
testing in the smaller facilities.
3. Test Phase: The objective of the test phase is to perform scale model
or full scale testing on basic tyling configurations and incorporate subtle styling
changes during or between test runs to gather comparative test data on primary
aerodynamic performance.
Model configurations will be varied by changing external components (internal
in the cas (D 0 cooling systems) and varying test conditions to determine the optimum
aerodynamic configuration with a given basic styling design.
4. Report: The objective of the report will be to define test configurations
and note aerodynamic performance differences in a simplified manner for use by
non-technical styling personnel.
The report will be organized to illustrate in simplified artists concept sketche
the test results on various vehicle configurations.
