The system failed to operate properly on i ace day although a system check
out earlier in the week indicated proper functionin of all elements. Excess external
power supply fluctuation is the suspected problem although it is not possible to recon
struct all symptoms.
ABC Sports is interested in renting our scoring system services for live
telecast of Grand National races. The Talladega race, 12 April, is the first in the
series. The systerh will be demonstrated to ABC prior to the race and if acceptable
ABC will pay for the scoring service.

a. Driver Seat Suspension
The system test is awaiting special shock absorbers being procured
by the engineering office.
b. Vehicle Thermal Insulation
The Dodge Daytona with poly ether-urethane foam installed on the
underside of floor pan and inside of firewall including oil tank barrier was tested at
Atlanta.
Drivers comments were very favorable and no problem arose with
the foam material.' It has good resistance to abu C O C D heat, abrasion and fluids. It is
fire retardant (non-burning).
The same car was used for the record run at Talladega and favorable
drivers comments were received although removing windows negated some of the
insulation effects.
