I dropped by to discuss the front wheel drive proposal from an administrative

standpoint with Mr. Juk. He stated they would be looking for an overall or overview

type of proposal that would describe at least the proposed first phase plus the follow

on phase or phases for planning purposes. The detailed first phase technical would

be worked out between ourselves and Truck Engineering. I stated our intention to

draft the proposal and review it with them prior to a formal submission.

Mr. Knotek was visited to follow up on a request for drawings of the DTOO Tv­ C

front wheel axle assembly for use in our front wheel drive proposal.

I returned to engineering to review rapid heat program and sit in on a cold

room test but the air heater simulator had failed and tests were temporarily canceled.

I dropped by to see Mr. Dawley who requested that we bill him early (in July) for the

entire rapid heat phase I effort because his phase II MY-70 funds had been cut. Mr.

Dawley could not project the fate of our rapid heat effort because he is confused by

conflicting management direction (the project has a top priority rating but no funds

allocated for MY-70).
