               for funding approval.

The writer later dropped by the Cooling Laboratory for submission of a proposed

work scope draft, of an analytical computer program needed-by Mr. Lindsey.

At Mr. Bader's request the writer attempted to contact Mr. Dupree concerning

Wiring Harness Automation. Failing to contact Mr. Dupree the next available person in

line was Mr. R. Pallister who was visited in the wiring shop to pick up wiring harness

fabrication specifications. Mr. Pallister said that Chrysler purchased all harnesses from
                                                          . - y
a number of small vendors presently but at one time had fabricated their own but the raw

material suppliers, who also controlled wiring shops, made it uneconomical for Chrysler

to do their own harnesses. Mr. Pallister had copies of several hundred specifications

pertaining to wiring which all referred back to an original specification for wiring harness

assembly PS 1745. We can order this specification if we are interested. Mr. Pallister

also suggested that we visit one of their vendors to investigate the basic feasibility of

automating harness fabrication since there are several near Huntsville. The moshylikcly""

vendor: is located in Baimbridge, Georgia, and If we would like to visit it can be arranged

through Mr. R. Prikish, Extention 4739.
