Several items were added and modifications made to improve
overall efficienc including:
a. Permanently mounted NASCAR and AM radios and
antennas.
b. Remote radio speakers with volume control.
c. Five-drawer file cabinet for working per onnel use.
d. A O ompressor for carburetor work.
e. A small vise for holding carburetors.

were fabricated and sent to CEO-HP for heat treat.
Shock absorbers are being procured with a range of damp-

b. Vehicle Thermal Insulation
The Charger Daytona test vehicle was insulated with

and oil tank bulkhead.

has a density of 2 pounds per cubic foot and a thermal K factor of 0. 12. It
meets ASTM Code No. D1692-59T for non-burning materials.
B. Plans for February 1970
1. Test Operations
a. The test car 096 will be rebuilt and prepared as a backup
race car for the Daytona 500.
b. The former Charger 500 test car 046 will begin buildup on
