Subject: Chrysler’s Proposal for Stock Car Race Scoring Services
at Talladega International Speedway (CCSD-HI-120)
Gentlemen:
In accordance with recent telephone conversations between representatives
of ABC Sports, Inc. and Chrysler Corporation Huntsville Operations, we are
pleased to submit our proposal for Automatic Stock Car Race Scoring Services.
It is our understanding that ABC desires to witness the operation of the system
under simulated race conditions on Friday, April 10, 1970, and if acceptable
will utilize the system’s capability under actual race conditions on Sunday,
April 12, 1970 during the Alabama 500 at Talladega International Speedway.
Following is a brief description of the data generated by the system during
race:
A. The track position of cars by car number in order of standing.
B. The position of cars relative to the lead car shown in terms of
laps behind and time (in seconds) behind.
C. The number of laps completed by the cars since the last pit stop.
Chrysler will supply the equipment and personnel necessary to provide the
data and/or information described above and it is anticipated that a total of
fifteen (15) cars will be monitored by our system. Cars selected will be those
that traditionally run in the leading positions.
Our price for performing the services described above on April 12, 1970 is
$4,000.
