The centrally located building has expedited operation since nearly all supplier -
are within approximately one mile of the shop. (A parts supplier is next door.)
The red car has begun teardown and rebuild for the Riverside tests in December
and electronic measurements are being reworked and calibrated for installation. The
entire system installation is being redesigned to expedite vehicle installation or removal
with centrally located electronics and recording equipment in the trunk and connectors
for hook up of all transducers.
The prop shaft torque meter was successfully tested in the red car at the airport
test site. The unit is now ready for balance and high speed track testing.
The following electronic laboratory equipment was purchased when it was learned
that CHO could not loan equipment for the extended time in a remote location. Special
items for short term loan can still be obtained but these relatively low cost items are
required almost daily. This equipment was not priced in our IPA but can be covered
within our present budget underruns. In addition, the air compressor and computer fail
safe are listed, all of which were verbally approved prior to purchase.
