Saturday the Permatex race was scored using Mr. Hutchinson's personnel from
the west coast. The scoring computer system worked perfectly until accidently shut
down by a visitor inside bumping a critical sensor switch on the computer which wiped
out all memory locations of race car position information. Measures were taken to
avoid this problem in the future.
Sunday's 500 mile race was also scored by the scoring system. Outside power
was used and as temperature increased someone turned on the air conditioning system
which, caused excess voltage spikes. A loose power supply on the computer logic
apparently gave extraneous signals to the logic and caused loss of some manual input
scoring information plus introduction of several erroneous signals. Final results were
in slight error due to lost inputs and errors. Future events will use a separate power
source for the computer to avoid the voltage problem and the power supply will be
locked in place and checked after each road trip.
