The writers visited the Engineering Office in Detroit for the purpose
of meeting with en gineering laboratory personnel to discuss on-going support
to engineer in and future areas of new support.
Monday morning, July 29, a meeting was held with Mr. Wallace in the
Vehicle Performance Group to dis cuss road load C D rformance curves for a
!C’ body vehicle for simulating en gme output during the warm- up period for
our rapid heat program. Also dis cuss C D CL were the intermittant front wheel
drive power requirements and race car measurement requirement.
Monday afternoon, we met with Mr. W. N. Scott and R. N Franz of
the Sound and Vibration Laborator Mr. Martin reviewed our CHO capa-
bilities in vibrations and acoustics, presenting reports and descriptions of
previou cn cn pace oriented experience.
Mr. Scott seemed interested in our math modeling capabilities and
asked if we would propose on a vehicle floor pan math model for a ’C' body
car. They will prepare a prop O co (D T5 wor scope and forward it to us for
review and proposal drafting.
Tuesday morning, Mr. Wright attended a meeting with the following
Engineering Office personnel to review the rapid heater development pro
gram status and plan the first program phase with Huntsville participation:
