Daytona Charger Test Car
The blue Dodge Charger Daytona was returned to Nichels Engineering
31 October 1969 for general rework, repair and updating modifications.
The car was picked up from Nichels Engineering by Messrs. Schrandt and
Knowlton at 11:00 p.m., 2 December 1969.
The following discrepancies existed on the car as received by Huntsville:
1. Scoops on top of front fenders not reworked
2. No brace on front fender outer mounts
3. Impossible to remove sway bar without removing one of brake ducts.
4. Both upper control arms interfere with clam shell
5. Center hood pin not reinforced properly
6. Tail pipes used and not serviceable
7. No provision made for rear shock clearance on longitudinal
8. No head rest for seat
9. Oil line for transmission cooler through open hole in floor
10. No right side T/bar anchor cover
11. Steering column not repaired on dash mount
12. No insulation on oil tank
13. Good distributor sent with car could not be located
14. Used HT ignition wire installed (no stock)
15. No provision for oil cooler line or routing for automatic transmission
